High-quality wines from the Eberlehof


Alto Adige S. Maddalena Classico DOC

Grape variety: Schiava (93%) and Lagrein (7%)

Cultivating area: south-exposed vineyards with gravelly moraine soil at S. Maddalena (Bolzano) at an altitude of about 300 m above sea level

Training system: pergola

Vinification: The grapes are harvested and crushed carefully around mid-September. The mash fermentation takes places at a temperature of 25°C in steel tanks and is controlled regularly. After the fermentation process the new quality wine is matured for a few months in oak barrels (15 to 30hl).

Characteristics:
Colour: ruby red
Aroma: a hint of violets and almond, fruity bouquet of red berries and cherry
Flavour: elegant body, dry and aromatic

Ageing potential: 5 to 6 years

Serving temperature: 14 to 16°C

Food pairing: Pasta dishes, red meat, South Tyrolean bacon, cheese and with any kind of banquet

Bottle size: 0.375 l and 0.75 l

Alto Adige Lagrein Riserva DOC

Grape variety: Lagrein

Cultivating area: S. Maddalena near Bolzano

Training system: pergola

Vinification: The grapes are picked at the beginning of October. They are vinificated carefully and fermented in a slow and controlled manner. The new wine develops in small and big oak barrels and is bottled after two years.

Characteristics:
Colour: dark ruby red with violet reflexes
Aroma: violets, dark berries and ripe cherries
Flavour: powerful and harmonious, elegant tannins

Ageing potential: ca. 10 years

Serving temperature: 16 to 18°C

Food pairing: roasted or grilled red meat, venison and hard cheese

Alto Adige Merlot Riserva DOC

Grape variety: Merlot

Cultivating area: S. Maddalena near Bolzano

Training system: guyot

Vinification: The Merlot grapes are picked rather late at the end of October. After the careful harvest the grapes are crushed and fermented in a controlled manner in steel tanks. The new wine is matured in small oak barrels for two years and bottled afterwards.

Characteristics:
Colour: dark garnet red with slight reflexes of brick red
Aroma: slightly herbal, blackcurrant, wild cherry and blackberry
Flavour: slightly rough, strong body, full-bodied, smooth tannins, long finish

Ageing potential: ca. 10 years

Serving temperature: 16 to 18 °C

Food pairing: roasted or grilled red meat, venison, piquant cheese

Alto Adige Lagrein - Merlot Riserva „MABON“ DOC

Grape variety: Lagrein and Merlot

Cultivating area: S. Maddalena near Bolzano

Training system: pergola and guyot

Vinification: In October the grapes are manually harvested. The grapes are fermented in steel tanks. After a storing period of two years in small oak barrels the wine is finally bottled.

Characteristics:
Colour:
deep garnet red
Aroma: violets, blackcurrant, dark wild berries, spicy nuances and slightly grassy
Flavour: muscular body, harmonious, elegant tannins, with a lingering finish

Ageing potential: ca. 10 years

Serving temperature: 18 to 20 °C

Food pairing: roasted or grilled red meat, venison, piquant cheese

Bottle size: 0.75 l and 1.5 l

Eberle’s white wine

Grape variety: Blaterle

Cultivating area: S. Maddalena near Bolzano

Training system: pergola

Vinification: The grapes are picked at the end of August. The crushed grapes are pressed and the most is fermented in steel tanks at less than 20°C. The wine is early filtered carefully and bottled immediately to preserve its natural freshness.

Characteristics:
Colour: bright, a slight reflex of yellow
Aroma: fruity, a slight flowery touch
Flavour: a light white wine, balanced acidity, harmonic

Ageing potential: 2 to 3 years

Serving temperature: 7 to 10 °C

Food pairing: Aperitif, asparagus, salmon, crustacea, fish entrées

Mitterberg IGT bianco Blaturum

Grape variety: Blaterle

Cultivating area: S. Maddalena near Bolzano

Training system: pergola

Vinification: The grapes from selected vines are picked, crushed and pressed at the beginning of September. Part of the must is fermented in a steel barrel and part in barrique barrels. It is stored on the fine yeast with bâtonnage. After several months, the wine is gently bottled.

Characteristics:
Colour: bright, a slight reflex of yellow
Aroma: yellow fruits, like pears, quince, slight smoky hint of vanilla, floral notes
Flavour: well integrated acidity, harmonious

Ageing potential: ca. 3 to 6 years

Serving temperature: 8 to 12 °C

Food pairing: fish dishes, salmon, crustacea, ravioli, South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen, rice dishes, Asian dishes, white meat

Eberle’s Rosé wine

Grape variety: Schiava and Lagrein

Cultivating area: south-exposed vineyards with gravelly moraine soil at S. Maddalena (Bolzano) at an altitude of about 300 m above sea level

Training system: pergola

Vinification: Schiava and Lagrein grapes are harvested in September, then destemmed and gently pressed. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at around 20 °C. The wine is early filtered carefully and bottled immediately to preserve its natural freshness.

Characteristics:
Colour: pink to salmon coloured
Aroma: raspberry, strawberry, cherry, light violet note
Flavour: fresh, harmonious acidity; juicy and soft, fine finish, an elegant rosé wine

Ageing potential: 2 to 3 years

Serving temperature: 7 to 10 °C

Food pairing: aperitif, starters, soft cheese, white meat, fish dishes, smoked fish, summer dishes, pasta dishes

Grappa dell’Alto Adige S. Maddalena Monovitigno

This noble distillate is made from fermented fresh S. Maddalena pomace. A renowned South Tyrolean distillery produces it according to an old tradition, with great expertise and love, in a double distillation process using the classic “Bagnomaria” method.

The S. Maddalena grappa of the Eberlehof comes crystal clear, with a fine and smooth grape aroma, tasty and round with a powerful body.

This special grappa is not recommended to be served cool.
